Okotoks' Economic Development team is launching a pilot project to foster business relationships and between local entrepreneurs.

The six month coworking project involves storefront businesses providing space for home based businesses to work, for the benefit of both parties.

A one week coworking challenge occurred in the Spring, though Project Lead Tom Barker says this tome around they wanted to make the project more Okotoks-centric.

He says the team made sure to consult with Okotoks' business community when designing the project.

"We've also done some market research with the business community to find out exactly what they wanted, and how we could best serve them with the project, to make sure that they are sustainable and they are around long-term, and that the home based businesses are being served just as well as the brick and mortar businesses in town."

The project is currently underway, and is running through to March 31st, 2020.
