Canada's Men's hockey team notched its first win at the Beijing Olympics.

They beat Germany this morning 5-1.

And all local eyes were on #9, Corban Knight.

Knight grew up in High River and got in on the scoresheet with an assist on the final goal.

He also spent a lot of time on the penalty kill unit helping to kill off four penalties.

And another local connection is assistant coach Jeremy Colliton who hails from Blackie.

Head coach Claude Julien has been sidelined with broken ribs and watched from the stands but will be back behind the bench for Team Canada's next match on Saturday.
