RCMP are searching for two suspects driving a vehicle stolen from Turner Valley.

This morning (Sept. 23) at around 9:50 a.m., a resident of the Springbank area of Rocky View County was working in his garage.

After briefly entering his home, he returned to see some items missing.

He saw a man entering a waiting vehicle that contained another man, and during the subsequent confrontation, the resident was bear-sprayed and briefly dragged by the vehicle as it drove away.

Luckily, he only sustained minor injuries.

Cochrane, Stoney Nakoda, Rocky View County RCMP, as well as members from the Alberta Traffic Unit responded.

They carried out a search with assistance from a Calgary Police HAWC helicopter and the Tsuu T’ina Police Service, but they were unable to locate the suspects.

RCMP provided descriptions of the two suspects:

Suspect 1:

  • 18-20-year-old male

  • Heavy build

  • With a round face and black hair.

  • Wearing a green traffic vest.

  • He got into the driver’s seat of the suspect vehicle

Suspect 2:

  • Male
  • Wearing a similar green traffic vest.
  • He remained in the passenger seat during the incident.

They were driving a red 2017 Audi Q3, with Alberta licence plate PTY518. 

The vehicle had previously been reported stolen out of Turner Valley.

Police warn that the suspects may be armed.
