High River Fire, RCMP, and EMS were on the scene of a motor vehicle collision just before 6 PM this evening.

According to Corporal Blair Schnieder the driver of the vehicle was picking up food from A&W when it all went sideways.

"It appears there was a two vehicle motor vehicle collision here at the intersection fo 16th street and 12th ave SE. Preliminary investigation revealed that a gentlemen who was operating a 2012 Chevy Colorado pick up truck obtained food at the A&W and came through the intersection, went over the median where he struck another vehicle." Cpl. Schnieder says "The driver continued on, took out two signs - up over the curb and drove into the wall of the play place in McDonalds."

Restaurant Manager at McDonalds, Vincent Sison says it was terrifying but he was immediately worried for any children.

"I was kind of scared because it [the accident] happened in the play land and I was so worried about if any of our guests kids were hurt or anything like that so I rushed inside to check and fortunately no one was inside the play place!"

EMS did take the driver of the truck to the High River Hospital with minor injuries, but no restaurant guests were injured as a result.

There is no word on what caused the incident, and the investigation will remain ongoing.
