The Claresholm Cobras bantam football team gets back to work Tuesday, October 6, in Taber against the Rebels.

The Cobras are 0-and-2 to start the season after a couple of lopsided losses to Magrath last month.

High School Coach, Tim Bryson, who's helping out the bantams, says win, lose or draw, the players are just happy to be able to strap on the pads this year.

"They're champing a the bit and they want to play some ball and that's all you can ask for. Amongst kids that a lot of them either haven't played football before or played bantam before. About half the team is grade eight, so they played pee-wee last year, so this is a massive step up."

Bryson, says the players aren't too bothered by those early season losses and just want to get back on the field.

"The don't get down on themselves, they don't kind of start kicking themselves. You know they've got a smile on their face every day at practice, so that's great."

The Cobras and Rebels play the re-match Saturday, October 10 at 11 a.m. at Cobras Field in Claresholm.
