The playground upgrades for Dr. Morris Gibson School are set to get underway and they received a cheque for $125,000.

Anthony Rider, School Council Chair, says the work should be done by the end of the next school year.

"So we're aiming for may 2019, it actually costs less to get it done in school time, so it'll be in and up and running by the end of the school year. So the whole summer will be great access and then coming next school year it'll be ready and accessible for all the school kids to play at" Rider adds.

Rider says they are still fundraising and they would like to see more parents and community members help with this and the school wants this to be as accessible and inclusive as it can be.

If you want to get involved you can contact the school. They have sponsorship applications/packages, any company can sponsor a swing, slide, or a piece of equipment.
