Canadian Blood Services is putting the call out to Foothills residents.

They have a clinic coming up at the end of the month in High River they are hoping to fill with 150 donors.

Lisa Castro, Territory Manager for CBS, says their inventory levels are running low.

"Right now, the national inventory is meeting demand and patient needs but really, the need is for 'o' negative donors. Right now, we have less than three days supply on hand across the nation so we really want to encourage more people that are 'o' negative donors, really any blood type, to come out and donate."

Castro says they'd like to see people make blood donation a part of their routine.

"We really want to encourage more of the residents from High River and Okotoks to make donating blood a priority in their lifestyle choices and make that time to donate blood more regularly. We can have women coming in every 84 days and men can donate every two months. It's not a huge commitment, we just ask that you're keeping it top of mind."

The clinic is scheduled for the High River Baptist Church on Feb. 29 from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m.
