If you've been wanting to get back out and volunteer again, now's your chance.

The Highwood Centre has a volunteer fair lined up on Wednesday May 10 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Many non-profit service groups will be on hand to answer any questions, including Doug Elliott with the High River Lions club.

"There will be a lot of service clubs there looking for volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, come on out."

Elliott says many groups need more members including the Lions club.

"We are getting a little bit older and long in the tooth in the Lions club and we could use some help in some of our community events that happen at George Lane Park.

The High River Lions club look after George Lane Park including the campground. And that covers all the events that take place at George Lane Park.

The Heart of High River volunteer fair goes from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Highwood Centre in High River on Wednesday May 10.

There are also various board member positions open if you wish to volunteer that way.

Booths will be set up with all the non-profit service groups in and around High River to field your questions and you can see what a good fit the various groups would be to meet your volunteer wants and needs.
