Some women will do anything for a great cause!

Dewdney Players Group Theatre would like to announce that Sept. 12, 2015 is the launch date for the Foothills Country Hospice Charity Calendar.

This will be followed by the fall stage production of The Calendar Girls in October.

The six calendar girls will be out in their best black dresses, sunflowers, hats and pearls at various locations to sell the calendars on Sat. Sept. 12. Find out their whereabouts on the Dewdney Players Group Theatre Facebook and Twitter feeds. Watch for them driving around town that day in a yellow Volkswagen Bug. Catch up with them, say hi, get a calendar, and take a photograph with them. It will be a fun day. Some of their stops that day include Jazmine Harbour, The Emporium of Impossible Things, Sobeys and Cobs Bread.

Listen to Logan Coutts on Eagle 100.9 from noon to 2 p.m. that day for live reports.

This calendar will be available for purchase at several locations around Okotoks while supplies last.

They will also be available for sale at the RPAC on performance nights, which are Oct. 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23 and 24.

Cost for the calendar is $20. Get them while you can as there’s only 200 available! Proceeds go to the Foothills Country Hospice.

The full cast list, which up to now has only been hinted at, will also be released.

Listen to this interview with Sherene Schmidtler, the director of Calendar Girls, as she talks about the calendar and the upcoming production.
