The Okotoks Oilers swept the Calgary Canucks out of the playoffs with a 4-1 win Sunday night in the city.

Trey Degraaf spotted the Oilers an early lead, but the Canucks tied it at one late in the first before Carter Huber gave the Oilers the lead for good on the power play 15:47 into the second period.

Braeden Nesbitt and Matt McNair would round out the scoring for the Oilers

The Oilers will meet the Camrose Kodiaks in round two starting Friday in Camrose.

The Oilers aren't hoping this season is a repeat of last year, as they swept the Canmore Eagles in the first round, only to be swept themselves in the second round by the Brooks Bandits.

The Bandits finished first in the AJHL South Division this year and had the first round bye.

They'll play the winner of the Canmore vs Drumheller series in the other South Division semi-final.

The Eagles lead the Dragons two games to one in their series with game four in the best-of-five set for Monday night in Drumheller.
