The Okotoks Bisons got back on track Friday night with a 4-1 win over the Strathmore Wheatland Kings.

Specialty teams helped decide the outcome but it's probably not what you think.

It was the Bisons penalty kill with not just one short-handed goal but two.

The host team Bisons opened the scoring at 7:37 of the first period on a short-handed goal from Lucas Watkins, assisted by Jaevon Buschlen.

After the end of the first the host team lead 1-0 in game two of their best-of-seven series in the Heritage B Jr. League.

Watkins got back on the scoresheet in the second period with an assist on an Adam Kirkpatrick goal to stretch the Bisons lead to two.

Strathmore finally twinkled the twine to shorten the lead to 2-1 after 40 minutes.

It was Evan Woods scoring the Bisons third goal of the game at 4:31 to notch his second point of the game as he also had an assist on the Bisons second goal.

Austin Braw secured the win scoring at the 6:55 mark of the third for the teams second 'shorty' of the game.

But the team had to fight to hold onto the win as they were accessed six two-minute penalties as well as one four-minute penalty for kneeing.

They managed to hold on for the win and tied up the series at one a piece in the best-of-seven round two series.

Both teams suit up tonight, Saturday, for game three at the Strathmore Family Centre for an 8:00 p.m. puck drop.
