The Okotoks Bisons are looking to make it a three-game win streak after Fridays win over the Red Deer Vipers.

The Bisons beat the Vipers 3-2.

Rookie Justin Russo got his first point in the HJHL on Friday by assisting Captain Mark McLeod in the second goal of the game; Russo says that it took focus and vision.

"It sees the whole ice, working hard and watching the play."

The Bisons now sit 2-2 on the season after losing their first two games.

Russo credits that to playing the whole game and not giving up half way through.

"We are playing the full 60 minutes, and not giving up after the first 40, we were giving up after the first two periods that first weekend."

Russo says that the dynamic in the dressing room has changed over the past couple of weeks for the Bisons.

"Everyone is quiet at the start of the season because we are just starting to get to know each other, but we are all starting to gel together now, and it is working well for us so far."

The Bisons have Saturday off before welcoming the Three Hills Thrashers to the Murray on Sunday.

The High River Flyers also won on Friday night, beating the the Blackfalds Wranglers 4-3.

The Flyers welcome the Stettler Lightning to the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex at 2:34 PM on Saturday.

The Strathmore Wheatland Kings fell to the Lightning Friday night and will be looking to get that one back on Saturday night when they host the Mountain View Colts at 8:15 PM.
