The Okotoks Bisons head into this Thanks Giving weekend with three games on the board.

Friday night the Bisons and Blackfalds Wranglers face off at the Murray Arena for the first time this season, the Bisons will then head to Airdrie Saturday night to play the Thunder for the first time since preseason, and the weekend will conclude back at the Murray on Sunday as the Bisons and High River Flyers meet for the second time this season in the battle of the Foothills.

With the team sitting tied third with the Flyers in the South Division standings Bisons Assistant Captain Robbie McLean says that the team needs to stay focused on their goals.

"Our goal is to pick up at least two more wins this weekend, of course, we want to go for a perfect weekend and continue the win streak."

McLean says that the team needs to go into each game focused on who they are playing and the obstacles that they could face, adding that remembering each team is different is essential. Especially when playing a rival like High River on Sunday, Blackfalds and Airdrie are the first obstacles to that game.

"It is always exciting to play High River, they are our hometown rivals and the community seems to enjoy coming out to those games as well," McLean says.

The Bisons had a close call last Sunday beating the Red Deer Vipers 7-6 in a five-round shootout.

McLean says that the problem with Sunday's game quite simply was the team got complacent and stopped playing the game they can play and let Red Deer catch up.

McLean says that was a hard lesson for them to learn but learn they did.

"The message this week at at practice has been we need to play a 60-minute game, and we can't let up, no matter what the score is."

The Bisons and Wranglers face off at 8:00 pm Friday night at the Murray Arena.

While the High River Flyers also face a three-game weekend ahead of them. The Flyers host the Red Deer Vipers Friday night before heading to Ponoka to take on the Stampeders finishing the week in Okotoks against the Bisons on Sunday.

The Flyers and Vipers face off at 8:15 pm at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex.

The Strathmore Wheatland Kings face the Airdrie Thunder Friday night before heading to Blackfalds to take on the Wranglers on Sunday.

Puck drop is 8:00 at the Strathmore Family Centre.
