The Okotoks Bisons will say '"Goodbye" to one of their own during Sunday's game against the Cochrane Generals.

Former Captain, and four year Bisons star, Zak Johns, died tragically in a motorcycle crash back on June 4, 2016 near Champion.

Bisons G.M. Brent Trevors says it was tough on the team and the community.

"It's always sad when a young man loses his life, you know, in anything. Being hockey, being it's kind of own little family. He was a Captain on the team. Obviously he was a well respected young fellow in the room. I think it's a great thing the Bisons are doing this."

Trevors says members of Johns' family will be at the game, and he's hoping fans fill the barn to honour Johns memory and legacy as a Bison.

Puck drop is at 1:15 p.m. at Murray Arena.
