The Carstar Okotoks Bisons and the High River Brewing Co. Flyers had big wins over the weekend.

Both teams won both their games in the evenly matched south division of the HJHL.

The Bisons downed the Coaldale Copperheads 4-1 on Friday night at their home barn, the Murray arena and then they welcomed the Three Hills Thrashers to the Murray on Saturday and finished them off 5-1. The Herd exploded out of the gates in both games racking up a 3-0 lead in the first period, all on the power play, in Friday's game along with pocketing 4 goals in the first in Saturday's game.

And the Flyers also had an exceptional weekend.  They played the Strathmore Wheatland Kings to a shootout final with the Flyers skating away with a 6-5 win.  They had to go to eight skaters in the shootout before McCallum Bakken scored the winner.

Then on Saturday the Flyers shutout the Rocky Rams 6-0. Kashton Payne got the shutout in net for the Flyers after stopping 34 shots.

All five teams in the south division of the HJHL are very close with only 5 points separating first from last.
