For the first time since 1991, the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers are facing off in the NHL playoffs.

Many of the current Flames and Oilers weren't even born yet.

Johnny 'Hockey' Gaudreau is one of those players.

Gaudreau also scored the OT winner against Dallas on Sunday and was pretty pumped about it.

"Yeah, it was awesome.  Ya know, it was a tight series throughout the whole week or two weeks here, and it came right down to the end there...game seven in overtime. Dream about stuff like that scoring in a game seven in overtime. Nice play from Chucky (Matthew Tkachuk) behind the net, found Lindy (Elias Lindholm) in the front and I got the rebound."

Linemate Matthew Tkachuk says it was tough getting through Dallas in order to face off against Edmonton.

"They played us so hard and made us earn every inch which is... guys with way more playoff [experience] are saying that's one of if not the hardest rounds they've played."

Now names like Fleury, Gilmour, MacInnis, and Vernon will be compared with Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Lindholm, and Markstrom for the Flames.

And Messier, Anderson, Lowe, and Fuhr will get compared to McDavid, Draisaitl, Nurse, and Smith for the Oilers.

The Calgary Flames have the home-ice advantage so games one and two will be played at the Saddledome.

Puck drop for Wednesday's game is 7:30 p.m. and it moves to 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
