The Okotoks Oilers took one on the chin Thursday night losing 7-4 to the Brooks Bandits at Pason Centennial Arena.

The tale of the tape in this one was the second period where the Oilers gave up four goals, three of them on the power play.

Forward Nolan Thompson says that was a killer.

"They've got such a deadly power play. I mean, we can't let them have that. We've got to keep them to five on five, because I feel we can carry the play that way."

Braeden Nesbitt was the lone bright spot for the Oilers as he had a hat-trick on the night for the home side.

The Oilers and Bandits wind up their home and home series Friday night in Brooks.

They'll play their final game before the Christmas break Saturday in Camrose against the Kodiaks.
