There's another solar farm in the works for Foothills County, just west of High River.
Elemental Energy Renewables has applied to build a solar farm on 130 acres of private land.
The land they're looking to build the solar power plant on is just along the north side of Hwy 498 and 64th St. E.
It will be right beside the new High River Peaking Powerplant.
It's just across the road from another power plant and where access for Bigfoot RV storage is.
It's expected to provide 18.5 megawatts of energy and Elemental Energy Renewables has simply called it the 'High River Solar Project'.
If you want to have a say the Alberta Utilities Commission is accepting written submissions until March 27.
You need to contact them under their 'Get Involved' section and its file 'Proceeding 27988'.
The AUC can also be reached at 310-4282 or firstname.lastname@example.org and to contact Elemental Energy Renewables you can email Liam Wolfe at email@example.com or call 403-700-3976.
Elemental Energy Renewables is also the company that built a solar farm near Brooks along the Trans-Canada Highway as well they plan on building a solar farm near Blackie by Frank Lake.
