The traditional cap and gown graduation ceremonies were put on hold in favour of some distanced celebrations locally last year.

Foothills School Division Superintendent Chris Fuzessy says it's looking like that may be the case again this year.

"Our high schools and and our schools in general were very creative about end of year celebrations last year that were in compliance with the health guidelines and that's what we're planning right now," he says. "I would say that there would have to be a significant shift in the gathering limit numbers for us to consider going forward with a traditional graduation or convocation ceremony at this point.,"

Fuzessy says they value the celebrations as much as anyone but without some changes to gathering limits there won't be much change from last year.
