The seventh annual AmiJane FunRaiser will once again raise money for Rowan House's Emergency Shelter.

AmiJane Sands tragically passed away in 2012. The event in her honour is taking place Saturday, November 16.

"Her sister and a good friend of hers wanted to have a party," reminisced Ami's mother Debbie Sands, about the fist Funraiser seven years ago. "To remember Ami, because she loved to party, and she loved music."

This year's event will be hosted at the Elk's Hall, and will feature live music and a silent auction.

The idea at the time was to find a way to support a charitable cause. At the time, Rowan House had just opened their new facility and were trying to grow.

"Since women's shelters are something Ami felt very strongly about and actually donated to when she won a financial prize in a contest, we thought that would be a very apt charity to donate to."

Last year's FunRaiser brought in $10,000 for Rowan House.
