Butter is always better! -So really how many of us actually choose the item on the menu with a health check?

The government of Alberta and Alberta Health are urging us to make better health choices due to an increase in obesity rates over the past fifteen years.

Alberta Health and Wellness Minister Gene Zwozdesky says the numbers are alarming.

Zwozdesky says they're trying to reduce heart-attack and stroke numbers by introducing healthier eating programs like Health Check- it has symbols beside healthy menu items to help.

Alberta Health is also trying to help influence healthy eating in schools because over thirty percent of grade five students in the province are considered obese.
