Alberta Beef Producers (ABP) was hard at work providing meals to those in need in Calgary.

On September 27, the association partnered with Cargill and Elanco to serve 1000 hamburger meals to people experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty at the Calgary Drop-In & Rehab Centre.

Cargill sponsored the meat for the event, and Elanco joined ABP in providing financial support for the rest of the meal. 12 members of the association worked to prepare the meal that afternoon, and 25 people served.

This was done as a continuation of the meals they served in Edmonton at Boyle Street and Hope Mission with Cargill and Dr. Sangita Sharma from the University of Alberta. They served about 500 meals at each Edmonton location.

The Alberta Beef Producers say they are proud of the role they play in bringing organizations together for these type of initiatives, and they are looking forward to another meal service soon.
