Active cases of COVID-19 are continuing on an upward trajectory, as seen over the last few provincial updates.

After 6582 tests over the last 24 hours, 47 new cases were identified.

The total number of active cases now sits at 371, an increase of 15 from yesterday.

6754 Albertans have now recovered.

42 people are being treated in hospital, with six in intensive care.

No additional deaths were reported.

Dr. Hinshaw spoke of complacency amid the transition into stage two of the relaunch, something she says we need to stay aware of.

"Sometimes people see the low numbers and think that that means that we don't have to take those measures, so I would remind Albertans that this is something that we do need to continue to protect each other against, for many months to come."

She says we need to remember why we are taking these precautions, and who we are trying to protect; namely Alberta's elderly and immunocompromised populations.
