The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Alberta continues to drop, with 1361 active cases reported during Tuesday's update.

45 new cases were reported, with recoveries now totaling 4866.

With one additional death, the total has risen to 118.

73 people are currently being treated in hospital, with 12 in intensive care.

25 active cases remain among employees of the Cargill plant North of High River, with 920 confirmed recoveries.

At the JBS plant in Brooks, 44 active cases remain with 582 recoveries, and 12 cases remain active at Harmony Beef with 28 recoveries.

With stage one of the relaunch estimated to begin in just two days, Dr. Hinshaw was asked whether decision has yet been made, and how business owners are supposed to prepare with only one day's notice.

Dr. Hinshaw says the Emergency Management Cabinet Committee will be meeting today to make a final decision, and that she understands frustration about the short lead time, however she says the decision must be made with the latest data in mind.
