Let us introduce you to Tanner!

Tanner Swaby was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma in October 2018 at the age of 13, then in May last year following several rounds of chemotherapy he received good news that his cancer was in remission, but one year later the cancer has returned and is in parts of his neck and throughout his chest.

It's a heartbreaking story and there is a way to support Tanner and his family through this time that has only been made harder by COVID-19.

Tanners family along with some family friends got together and are hosting a fundraiser dinner at Big Sky BBQ on August 27th. I got the chance to sit down with family friend Kristin Knudson to chat about the event.

That number is 587-999-8880

The money raised will be going to certain medical treatments that aren't covered by Alberta Health Care as well as paying for fuel to go back and forth to the Alberta Children's Hospital  "Due to COVID, he doesn't make it home as much as he normally would" says Kristin. "He was there on his 15th birthday so it's been really tough on him and tough on his family ... Seeing the light for him."

Tickets for the Fight for Tanner fundraiser are $35 and available at www.tickettailor.com/events/fightfortanner and find a link to the Go Fund Me HERE

It'll run from 5 to 10 p.m.
