I enjoy taking my digital camera out and happily click away when I see beautiful scenery and then I go home load them onto my computer and sometimes I even get a few great shots out of the hundreds I have taken.

Now imagine, using a large format camera like this one pictured here.

painstakingly getting the shots just right and then taking the film to a dark room to develop all with the intent of taking people on a personal visual journey across the western provinces of Canada.

The selection of photographs that grace the walls of the Okotoks Art Gallery do just that. These images by photographers Robert S. Pohl and Robert S. Michiel make up the Art Exhibit "A Visual Journey From Plains to Coast" by Procession West Project. These stunning photos are a labour of love and a decade in the making.
