One of my (logan) FAV scenes of all the Christmas flics has got to be the one from A Charlie Brown Christmas

*Scene is set...

Charlie Brown: "This little green one here seems to need a home."
Linus Van Pelt: "I don't know, Charlie Brown. Remember what Lucy said? This doesn't seem to fit the modern spirit."
Charlie Brown: I don't care. We'll decorate it and it'll be just right for our play. Besides, I think it needs me.

[Picks up tree; a lot of needles fall off]

Gets me right in the feelings every single time.

There is something about a real Christmas tree!

It’s the centrepiece of the biggest holiday of the year for many Foothills families: the Christmas tree, the focal point for parties and presents, replete with favourite ornaments and lights. Some cherish the scent of a real tree and the tradition of bringing it home, while others prefer the tidier and easier option of the plastic variety.

I will ALWAYS be team real tree. Mostly because every year growing up we got to go out to the Scout tree lot and pick one out!

Now that December is here (weird how that happened so fast) the Scouts have brought them back!!

Venture with the Okotoks Scouts, Joshua Heuver has been a part of the local Scouts for 11 years and the trees provide them with amazing opportunities

"We use the money fundraised from there to help support Scouting adventures for all age levels ... We use a lot of it to book camping trips here, locally and occasionally to support larger adventures, such as when we went to Denmark for the Jamboree there."

If you wanted to pick up a tree and help out the Scouts here in town they are located in the parking lot of the Safeway located at 610 Big Rock Lane.

"We sell three types of trees. We sell the BC firs, the Balsam firs, and the Fraser firs. The BC firs are $4 afoot. The balsam firs are $70.00, and the Fraser for $75."

This year they are also offering an online option called Click & Collect. Buy your tree ahead of time and pick it up no contact!
