Dairy Farmers Say Market Access Given Up in USMCA Closer to 4 Per Cent

Under the new U.S.-Mexico-Canada agreement, Canadian dairy farmers are expected to lose about $192 million annually as a result of the market access that was given up to the Americans.

That from Dairy Farmers of Canada, which says the amount of access given up is actually about 3.96 per cent, compared to the 3.59 per cent originally reported.

 

Federal Ag Minister's Europe Trade Mission

Canada's Agriculture Minister, Lawrence MacAulay, wraps up his trade mission to Europe Thursday, October 11.

MacAulay travelled to Spain, Belgium and Italy promoting Canadian agriculture over the past four days.

Prior to the mission, Macualay said he wanted to discuss the situation surrounding Italy's country of origin labelling for durum wheat.

 

The New Livestock and Forage Centre of Excellence Unveiled

The University of Saskatchewan officially launched the new Livestock and Forage Centre of Excellence at Clavet, Saskatchewan.

The $38 million facility was funded through a variety of partners including A&W.

The facility will include research on everything from forage development to grazing management, cow-calf management, cattle reproduction, and feedlot health.
