4-H Alberta is celebrating 100 years August 4-6 in Olds.

4-H Centennial Fever will have a number of activities throughout the weekend, including project demonstrations, a concert, fireworks, and a traditional 4-H camp fire.

Susann Stone with the organizing committee, says they encourage everyone to come out and see what 4-H is all about.

Many of the 4-H projects are related to agriculture, specifically the beef project which Stone says will be featured at the event through a beef carcass competition lunch on Sunday.

"We've had 4-H members who signed up for the competition in the fall of 2016 with their beef projects, and that will be their wrap up. Their awards banquet will also happen on that Sunday afternoon."

The weekend will also include some traditional 4-H fun with camp games, such as a gaga ball tournament which is all the rage at 4-H camps. Stone says all ages are welcome to compete.

"We have a Gaga Ball pit at our Alberta 4-H centre. You could say it's dodge ball on steroids. We've never had a tournament before, and the last man standing will take the honorary gaga ball trophy."
