Stories with Santa at the Okotoks Library

It would seem that some lucky children and their families were at the Okotoks Library last night, and had a celebrity guest to read to them.

The Okotoks Library holds a special program for a drop-in story reading with Santa every year, usually in the afternoons.  With Santa's busy schedule they had to push the reading a little later into the evening and so Santa read the children bed time Christmas stories.

Michelle Walther the Childrens Program Director says the turn out was incredible.

"In the past we've had them in the afternoons, and so we thought we would try an evening program." Walther says "We had such a great turn out.  We had 45 children and their parents/guardians and so there was over 80 people that came."

Santa read a few different stories including The Night Before Christmas, and Walther says he even had some other activities planned.

"He read about three or four stories, and then we all went into the program room for some snacks and some crafts." Walther adds "Everyone just had a wonderful time."

There are plenty more Story Time programs scheduled for the Okotoks Library and you can see the Dec. events schedule by clicking here.
