The Okotoks Museum and Archives launched their Remembrance Day exhibit on Thursday.

The Display consists of a World War One timeline which highlights the events surrounding Okotoks soldiers during the war. The timeline was started in 2014 to mark the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the war, and concludes this year with the 100th anniversary of the end of the war.

Also shown is a video featuring "Letters from the Front." These letters were sent by Okotoks soldiers and are read by local volunteers.

Kathy Coutts with the Museum and Archive says Okotoks contributed to the war in a significant way.

"Approximately a hundred and twenty people from Okotoks and district enlisted in the First World War. Some of them served overseas; some of them did not come back. Fifteen did not come back in addition to five from the De Winton and Davisburg area. Okotoks contributed in other ways as well; a lot of horses from this district were sold not only to the Canadian Expeditionary Force, but also to the British army and French army for service at the front lines."

The exhibit is available for viewing now through until Remembrance Day.
