Okotoks Oilers rookie goaltender Matthew Armitage stopped 20 of the 23 shots he faced Tuesday, September 27 in Calgary as he picked up his first ever AJHL win as the Oilers got past the Calgary Mustangs 5-3.

Armitage says it was a good experience.

"The guys helped me out a little bit. They battled. And I thought I battled pretty good there. So, I think it was just a good experience, a good character win for us."

The Oilers now head to Camrose for the annual AJHL Showcase.

They face Sherwood Park Crusaders Thursday, September 29 and the Lloydminster Bobcats Friday, September 30.
