Team Canada will return home with a medal from the World Under-18 Hockey Championships, after defeating Sweden in the bronze medal game 3-1.

Sweden got the first goal on the board, with a shorthanded marker halfway through the 1st from Henrik Tornqvist.

Before the end of the period though, Canada would tie it up with Brendan Perlini's 3rd of the tournament.

Canada would get the go ahead goal midway through the 2nd, with Lawson Crouse picking up his first point of the tourney to make it 2-1.

Sniper Travis Konecny would put the final nail in the coffin in the 3rd period with his 5th point of the championships to give Canada a bronze medal.

Goaltender Mason McDonald was spectacular, stopping 38 of 39 shots that came his way.

High River's own Conner Bleackley did not pick up a point in the bronze medal game. Bleackley finishes the tournament with one goal and one assist in seven games for Canada.

Team USA ended up claiming the gold medal with a 5-2 victory over the Czech Republic.
