A van caught on fire heading northbound on the QE II Thursday afternoon.
The Foothills Fire Department, RCMP and Foothills peace officers attended and have the fire under control.
It happened just before Highway 2 splits with Highway 2A.
The right-hand northbound lanes were closed for about an hour as crews worked to contain the fire and ensure the safety of emergency personnel.
It appeared to be a one-tonne service van.
No word yet on what caused the fire, but no injuries were reported.
