The U.S. won their fifth world junior hockey title Tuesday, January 5, bouncing Canada 2-0 in the bubble up in Edmonton.

American goalie Spencer Knight was named the game's MVP after stopping all 34 shots he faced.

It's the fifth time the Americans have won a world junior title since 2004, with their last coming in 2017.

Four of those titles have come at the expense of Team Canada.

After losing their opening game to Russia, the Americans ran the table the rest of the way, while Canada's only loss was in the gold medal game.

The juniors will be back in Edmonton and Red Deer again next year for the 2022 tournament.
