The organizers of the Millarville Spring Market recently announced that it’s been postponed.

It was scheduled for Saturday, May 4 at the Millarville Ag Grounds, with over 100 vendors lined up.

However, after the recent rain and snow left the site muddy and inhospitable, it’s been rescheduled for May 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

But not all hope is lost for those who were looking forward to heading to the racetrack to hunt for a bargain or two.

The Sheep Creek Weaver Fibre Arts Guild’s Fibre & Art Supplies Stash Sale is moving forward as planned tomorrow.

Guild member Jean Whyte says they'll have a wide selection of materials, tools, and equipment for crafters of all kinds.

“Vendors will have tables set up inside the hall to sell craft, arts, or fibre-related stash including materials, wool roving, commercial and homespun knitting yarn, quilting cotton, card-making supplies, art supplies, jewellery-making, as well as equipment tools related to making these creations like sewing machines, sergers, looms, carders, quilt rulers, et cetera.”

They’ll have 14 vendors with around 22 tables set up in the Millarville Racetrack Hall.

This is the group's second consecutive year of holding the event, which is intended to coincide with the Millarville Spring Market each year.

It’s a chance for local crafters to shed any excess supplies and materials they've accumulated and ensure they'll be put to good use.

“It’s for anybody who’s interested in any kind of crafts, fibre arts, or knitting because we’ll have lots of different things. Everything that we’ve decided that ‘I’ve got too much of this, I’m going to get rid of it,’ and people can go through it and make us a deal,” says Whyte.

She says visitors can drive right up to the hall without having to worry about the mud elsewhere on the ag grounds.
